Holbox Island, one of the beauties of the world, is located at the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico and is within the limits of the wild flora and fauna protection area called "Yum Balam "which is an ecological reserve. To the east it borders Cabo Catoche and Laguna Yalahau separates it from the mainland. Isla Pájaros (passion island):
Which is home to more than 140 species of birds that make their nests there. It is common to find on the island White Ibis, Frigates, White Egrets, Double-crested Cormorants, White Pelicans, Red Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Herons, Gray Pelicans and Pink Flamingos among others.

Since ancient times, Holbox Island was already considered a place of extreme beauty and was used as a place of solace and relaxation by the ancient Mayans. When the Spanish arrived in the 16th century, they found Holbox Island abandoned, but as before, they were amazed at its incomparable beauty.
